# Expert tips:

01 -
  • It's ready in five minutes, which means you can actually make it on a weekday morning without stress.
  • The guava juice does all the heavy lifting flavor-wise, so you don't need to fuss with a million ingredients.
  • It tastes indulgent and special but feels legitimately good for you.
02 -
  • Don't use melted or room-temperature guava juice; it makes the whole drink taste less refreshing and less appealing somehow.
  • If you're adding fresh spinach (which I sometimes do), blend just the liquid and yogurt first, add the spinach, blend again, then add the frozen fruit—it prevents the spinach from making everything gritty.
03 -
  • Keep a stash of frozen mixed fruit in your freezer specifically for smoothies—it's cheaper and better quality than buying individual frozen fruits.
  • If your guava juice is too sweet for you, cut it with a splash of water or coconut water before blending, which doesn't dilute the flavor as much as it might sound.
